The Art of Holiday Stationary & Greeting Cards

Happy December Fabbies! Have we been surviving or thriving this year?! I hope you guys have been thriving! As you already know the Holiday season has come roaring in at 100 miles an hour this year. I mean in general the year has flown by, no?! This year was definitely one for the history books for me. (We can chat about why it’s one for the history books another day soon.) But anyway speaking of history, do you remember back in the day before there were e-cards and evites, our parents or grandparents would mail out beautiful Christmas cards to their friends and family, and the cards would essentially become a part of the Christmas decor in the home? The cards would be adorned on fireplace mantels or elsewhere around the house. In my family my mom would hang the holiday cards around a door frame that led to the hallway. This hanging of the holiday greeting cards became a tradition in my house growing up, and in part contributes to my love for all things glossy paper, greeting cards, invitations you actually have to send out in the mail, stickers, stationary and everything else that combines beauty in photography, art and the written word. I actually wrote a blog post about one of my childhood obsessions years ago pertaining to stationary and stickers and my love for it all. You can read about that here.

Fast forward to present day, where I am now an adult and am sending out my own greeting cards and invitations. Ya’ll I just love when things are beautifully packaged and presented to people. That’s why invitations, birthday and holiday cards still hold a very special place in my heart! In the past when I have hosted parties, weddings (okay just my own haha) baby showers and Girls Weekends, I would excitedly send out beautiful invitations. Invitations, greeting cards and thank you cards almost always serve as keepsakes that you can keep forever to help you commemorate a special occasion or event.

Recently I discovered a super dope stationary company called https://www.basicinvite.com/, where they have endless design options for invitations, greeting cards, stationary, stickers and so much more! I love that you are able to customize so many of their products on their website so it gives you an opportunity to wear your design hat! Here are some of my favorite things that Basic Invite offers:

>Almost Unlimited Colors- Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once they select a design, customers can change the color of each element on the card. With over 180 colors to choose from, the invite is sure to be exactly how they want it. This is what sets them apart from almost any other online stationery company.

>Custom Samples- Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers to order a printed sample of their actual invitation before they place their final order. They can see the paper quality and how it will print, and make sure the card is perfect.

>Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes- Basic Invite has over 40 different envelope colors to choose from. With so many options, customers can make their envelope match the invitation. All of the envelopes are peel and seal so they can be closed quickly and securely.

>Address Capturing Service- Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows customers to share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media to request their friends and family’s addresses. The addresses are stored in the customer’s account and can be selected during the design process. Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all card orders.

Foil- Foil cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold. Customers can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs.

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51 for any of the orders you place until the end of the month, and there is still time to grab you a holiday card or 2 for Christmas, New Year’s and beyond! I am aways so excited for the Holiday season and all the traditions and pomp & circumstance that goes with it. (Hellooooo matching pjs!) I’m also happy to have found a company that helps keep the art of Holiday greeting cards and stationary very much alive.
