2021 Life Update, Part 2!

Happy Wednesday Fabbies! Today’s post is self-explanatory! As you can see by the title, this post is a continuation post on what I’ve been up to and what all has been going on in my world since the start of the year.

First off, can I just say that I dyed my hair blue back in December 2020 and kept my hair, (well real hair at least) blue for 6 months straight yall! I mean, of course I did many different hairstyles during that 6 months span as ya’ll saw in my ‘Part 1’ post, but I continued the blue hair drip for half of 2021 already!

You wanna know why I think the color blue has been on my radar for so long? I’m pretty sure it has a lot to with fact that I have spent so much time outdoors over the last several years, and have really fallen in love with nature and the sky, moon and stars and all the celestial beauties in between, even more so than I used to. We have been fortunate enough to live in wonderful places where there has always been an abundance of flora and beautifully landscaped flower gardens, the beach, or mountains, so I am always outside, and one of my favorite pastimes has become sitting on our terrace/balcony/patio soaking up the sun, gazing at flower gardens, watching butterflies dip by, all while I’m enjoying a nice joint. I’m definitely about 92 years old at this point.

Plus of course I still run outside, so I get to see the sky, gardens, flowers and all that in a wide open space as I’m whizzing by on a very regular basis. This also is what inspired some of my latest tattoos! I am always in awe of all the beauty that nature provides, and have found nature and being outside to be incredibly…healing. There is a feeling of deep connectedness and peace that I feel when I am outdoors surrounded by nature, and especially water. (The ocean, the sea, the lake, etc.) So beach me, mountain me, desert me, garden me please!

Below are various photos that I have taken while out on my runs around the cities here in Mexico, a few photos from when I was in LA back in March, and a couple photos of a fabulous resort-like water park:

It is hard not to be inspired by all of the beauty! Many of my Raven Collection designs are definitely inspired by the colors that I see in nature, and I mean what better muse to have other than Mother Nature herself?!

Speaking of inspiration, nature is definitely what inspired some of my new tattoos. As I mentioned earlier, nature, flower gardens, and just the interconnectedness that I feel with life in my most natural state has inspired about 1 or 10 new tattoos. For the last few years I had been getting tattoo ideas and writing them down in my notebook or my ‘Notes’ app on my phone. The pandemic and Coronavirus shows me that honey life is short, so how much longer was I gonna wait to do what I have been wanting to do for years?! After my trip to LA I came back and was like okay now’s the time! I’m ready to get these ideas permanently done! I don’t have photos of every single one of my 2021 tats though (when I wear a swimsuit again I’ll come back and update this post since some of my new tats are on my stomach and back), but I can talk about the ones I do have photos of. I will say that getting these tattoos throughout this year have very much been acts of self-care for me. It’s crazy, the tattoos are painful at first, but then your body goes into a sort of numbing state, so during those times I become so serene and almost meditative. It’s kinda wild.

So let’s see, in no particular order: I got the word “Divinity” on my left inside bicep a few months ago. I have always loved the word “Divinity” and what it means, which is of the highest state, goddess-like, divine. One of my favorite quotes is this:

“When we find the divine in ourselves, it extends to the world around us.”

In March I got a raven bird (with a diamond in her mouth) on the right side of my neck. I’ve wanted this tat for a minute! My name is Raven and well, I am the raven bird okay?! Ahhhh it’s definitely one of my favorites!

One of the tattoos I also got that I had to get done in sessions were the rose vine going down my left leg/thigh and all the way down to my foot. This tat actually extends up to my stomach and chest, and is absolutely inspired by nature and my love for flowers growing on vines attached to buildings and homes. I think it is just so romantic and love the idea of roses cascading down my body like permanent jewelry:

These Raven Collection Heels thoughhhhhh

Speaking of vines, that’s also the look I have going on my on right wrist and hand down to my fingers. Again, inspired by nature. I also have 3 butterflies and 3 triangles on my fingers on that same hand: (triangles are my favorite shape; 3 is the number of the holy trinity, which to me just means completeness and is on the same level as divinity and oneness:

I also have the word “Love” on the left side of my neck in red because I am Love! (and so are you!)

I also got “777” on my left wrist. I am very much into Numerology and astrology, and I am Life Path “7” (and so is my hubby!), and I also am obsessed with Angel Numbers, (google all this yall), plus ‘777’ is considered a lucky number too! So there’s that: (ok ok and my hubby has 777 on his face so I slick was getting a matching tat to his hahaha)

I also most recently go the “$”sign on my ring finger, which is my hubby $upreme’s initial:

I have a few others, but I don’t have pics of those yet. Catch me in a swimsuit soon and I’ll update them here. 🙂

I also recently just finished reading a wonderful book called How To Do The Work written by Dr. Nicole LePera. But before I get into the book I have to talk about the author and her Instagram page. I stumbled across The Holistic Pyschologst’s Instagram page a few years ago and have loved everything she has shared. Dr. LePera is a gifted psychologist who encourages healing of the mind and body, and she makes it explicitly known that we as humans have the capability to heal ourselves, no matter the trauma we may have faced in oue lives:

When she announced that she was writing a book a year ago I knew I would not hesitate to get it, and yall! It was beyondddd! Her book helps you take a hard look at yourself, your life, why you may do some of the things you do. This book helps me realize that we as a people need so much healing in order to be better people, parents, spouses, etc. I think life is a continuous journey of self-improvement, and this book is such a great tool on self-discovery and healing. I cried, self-reflected, and highlighted everything! hahaha! I highly recommend it!!

Now I am on to a new a book called The Conscious Parent: Transforming Ourselves, Empowering Our Children by Shefali Tsabary. The title alone had me sold, so I’m excited to dig into it!

While I love social media for fashion, travel, comedy and food inspiration, I also love social media for the spiritual guidance and wisdom that is offered there as well. Again, life is all about balance. What I am consuming everyday might as well add to my life, ya know? Some of my other favorite spiritual Instagram accounts to follow are:

Acupuncture

Something else I have begun doing this summer is getting Acupuncture. I did Acupuncture for the first time back in 2018 when I was living in Arizona. I blogged about that experience here. After getting acupuncture 3 years ago, I had always said that it was something I would do on a regular basis, but just never found the time to do it. Fast-forward to June of this year where I found a recommended Acupuncturist from a private San Miguel de Allende Facebook group, and was off to do it again!

According to the Mayo Clinic,

“Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.

In contrast, many Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. Some believe that this stimulation boosts your body’s natural painkillers.”

I akin getting Acupuncture to almost like getting a massage because it is very calming and relaxing, but with an added healing benefit inside the body.

As a pot smoker, I know that the smoke has to filter out through the liver, and getting Acupuncture helps stimulate all of my organs which creates a healing and balanced response in my body, thus helping all of my internal functions operate at an optimal level. Life truly is about feeling balanced & having all of our mental and physical systems operating optimally. Life has a way of disrupting that balance, because at some point we are ALL going to experience stress, and how healthy our minds and bodies are at the time of that stressful event truly can make all the difference. That’s another reason why meditation and yoga are so vital to my life as well. When we are balanced, we are happier in general and less prone to anxiety, depression, and anger, plus when we are balanced we sleep much better at night.

So twice a month I’ve been getting acupuncture as part of my wellness and self-care routine and I love it! I typically wear sweatpants and t-shirt or hoodie so I’m nice and comfy.

Obsessed!

My other newest obsession is my favorite snack, which these days is avocado toast with the absolute works. I wish I had better photos because I promise it tastes better than it looks. But I basically load my avocado toast with the following:

-jalapeño peppers

-black olives

-red sauerkraut

-sundried tomatoes

-tobasco sauce

-some other kind of spicy sauce to drizzle atop all of the already loaded avocado toast.

I eat this at some point almost everyday! It’s also an awesome way to get your veggies in:

Yall I promise this avocado toast is so filling and so so good!!

Lastly, Our Nonprofit Foundation, The Supreme Dream Foundation has begun sponsoring a Girls and Boys Orphanage here in Central Mexico. When my husband and I first started our Foundation a few years ago, we focused primarily on the youth and families in the Memphis-city area, but we have since expanded our mission and are giving back to the youth all over the globe, including here in Mexico as well. It has been wonderful to be able to help bring not only necessities and food, but also joy to the children. It is also such a gift to have Zé and Vito join us in giving back:

Some of the other things we have done with our Foundation this year include throwing a pizza party for the local Memphis Youth for St. Patrick’s Day back in March, partnering with The Boys and Girls Club in Seattle, Washington to throw an outdoor pizza party for the youth there at their facility, and expanding our network to include a global artist, Sister Cody to help further our goal, and that is to Give More Out Of Life:

Okay I think I have caught you guys up on everything! I still have to fill you guys in on the new business venture I’ve been working on, but that deserves a blog post of its very own. 😉

Until next time, may we all continue to work on ourselves so that we can continue to evolve into the best versions of who we actually are, and not who anyone else tells us we need to be. 😉

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

xoxo

(Because what’s a Fab and Ravenous blog post without a million outfit pictures at the end?! ;p
