Dream Chasing

Hey Fabbies! I hope everyone has been doing well! I have been doing a little bit of everything over the last several weeks  months. If you follow me on social media, then you know that like, right now I am headed to New York City to showcase several of my Raven Collection designs at my friend Billy Joe Michel’s art show this Saturday, May 5th in Brooklyn:

I know I have mentioned here and there that I was starting a Luxury Shoe and Handbag line, but I only mentioned it vaguely because it has been a continual work of progress over the last YEAR and a HALF. Yep! You read that right. For the last year and a half, I have been quietly working on The Raven Collection, designing and sketching my life away. I did this alongside my online store Fab and Ravenous Boutique, so The Raven Collection was low-key until now, where my shoes and handbags are in full production with my manufacturers, and I will be showing a sneak peak of my some of my designs this Saturday at Billy Joe’s Art Show in NYC!

You guys will get a chance to see first hand everything that takes place while I’m in NYC for the weekend, including meeting up with my sister Tamika who will be helping me with Raven Collection during the Art Show, but we will also get a chance to hang out and explore NYC together sans our kids all weekend long! I hired a videographer, so this will all be on the next episode on my YouTube Page in the near future!

I have been diligently working on The Raven Collection pretty hardcore over the last several months. During this time, I have been learning so much about myself, and have tried to remain as present as possible during each moment. This has also meant posting less on social media, and not being glued to my phone. Designing became meditative for me. Easy. Relaxing. Exciting. This is what I was meant to do. That is all this means!  So I have been studying. Reading. Learning. Luxury Brand building. And coming up with bomb ass designs for shoes and matching handbags. I have just been honing my craft, growing as an individual, and learning. It has been exhilarating to say the least! I have kind of been in the shell of my Scorpion self I guess you could say, and it was so necessary.

However, now?! Now I am ready to share my talents with the world! I am so grateful to Billy Joe for giving me the opportunity to showcase some of my pieces on Saturday, and of course you guys will get a chance to see! The full line will be ready to launch sometime in mid June! Some of my designs take more time than others to produce, but I am so happy that several are ready to showcase in New York. I cannot wait for you guys to see! What’s neat about my shoe and handbag line is that it is all animal-friendly. Of course being vegan, I chose to make sure that every piece of fabric, material, and embellishments are all faux, or vegan, and that no animals were harmed in the use of any of my products. For each shoe that exists at Raven Collection, there is a matching handbag to go with it. I also will have backpacks and duffel bags as well that will match shoes. And because I love texture and color, prepare to see lots of prints like faux crocodile, faux fur, faux ostrich feathers, and more!

I am definitely documenting my weekend on social media and beyond, so if you follow me on social media, be prepared! lol! And of course again, the film crew will be with us the entire weekend, so the next episode will have all the exciting sights and sounds of NYC, plus the meaning/inspiration behind the name for Billy Joe’s Art Show, and more.
