Hey Fabbies! I hope everyone’s 2017 has gotten off to a great start! I wanted to check in just to give you guys a little update on what has been going on in my life! If you already follow me on social media, then you already have somewhat been keeping up with me, but in this post I am giving you all the specifics and details!
As you know, my online store opened launched last month, and I recently crossed the one-month mark! Whoop Whoop! I have thoroughly enjoyed packing up orders and making the unboxing experience memorable for you guys! As I mentioned before, I have lots and lots of fabulous merchandise arriving for you in the coming months, and I cannot wait for you to see! I have been in full-blown creative mode and I have tons of ideas in store!
Since opening Fab & Ravenous Boutique, I have been busier than usual as one can imagine, so I have to sometimes force myself to step away from all things dealing with the store, because I have so many other responsibilities! Laundry and cooking still need to be done, I still have to find time to hang out with my hubby (thank goodness we both work from home, because this makes it that much easier.) I still have (and enjoy!) taking the kids on outings, teaching them early mornings, and just basically doing everything that a mom and wife has to do on a daily basis. I’m not gonna lie, some days, I am completely exhausted by the middle of the day! Then I become irritable. So trying to find a balance in all of this is crucial for me. Because I have been busier than ever, I have also tried to be very diligent with eating the proper foods (more fruits and veggies, less carb and vegan sweets lol), and stay disciplined with really fueling my body with exactly what it needs, because oftentimes I stay up late at night, and I know my body needs the proper rest AND nutrients. Ya know?
So whilst trying to find a balancing act, I also have to squeeze in times for myself, which lately for me comes in the form of going for long runs. Ya’ll know I love some sunshine and a good sweaty run outdoors. I also love to meditate and do yoga in the mornings as often as I can, and this ends up being like 3 times a week, but I have been inconsistent lately. Then! I have to still not disappear from being in contact with my friends and family. Lawd! I’m figuring it out little by little though, and am enjoying the process!
Anyway, in the midst of my navigating my way through life, I wanted to share some of the things that I am obsessed with lately. If I love something, I always want to share what it is that I love with the world! (And ya’ll know I gain new obsessions every month or so lol!)
Just A Few Of My Latest Obsessions:
Pinterest:
Sometimes, I like to unwind at the end of a long and busy day by relaxing either in my bed or the couch, and just get lost on Pinterest. (If you have no idea what Pinterest is, it is basically a website where you go to find tons of inspiration or ideas for whatever may interest you: home decor, fashion, DIY hacks, beauty, and just about any and everything!) Is also an App, and as a matter of fact it is way more fun for me to look at the Pinterest app on my iPad or iPhone). It is basically like an interactive online magazine, and you can register (for free) and then save all of your findings in your online “boards”. Trust me it makes more sense once you go to the site. Anyway, I joined Pinterest years ago, and have used it off and on, but lately have re-ignited my obsession for it.
Smoothies:
I have become obsessed. I make my own smoothies at home, and I typically make one everyday. My go-to favorite recipe is: kale, 2 frozen bananas, almond milk, and ground flaxseed. It’s sweet and so delicious! And of course it’s good for you. Smoothies make for a great snack, or even serve as a meal replacement. Right now the smoothie recipe that I have in the fridge has:
- a handful of frozen pineapples
- 3 or 4 frozen strawberries
- kale
- a handful of frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 2 cups of water
I make a pitcher of whatever smoothie I’m making almost every morning (takes all of 5 minutes to make), and I pour myself smoothies (or share with the kids) throughout the day as snacks or in between meals.
Chokers:
I have become obsessed. I am so happy the trend has been revived (Chokers were HOT during my early teens!), and are now seen on the runways, fashion magazines, and on everyone else in between, and especially me! lol! I love them so much that I sell chokers in my store. My favorite are the lace-up corset chokers:

My Favorite Vegan Recipe Website (http://www.wildsunflowerchef.com)
A few weeks ago, I interviewed a professional chef who changed her diet and lost 60 pounds. (You can read her interview HERE). Anyway, since launching her website featuring vegan and vegetarian recipes, I have been hooked! I have been her recipes left and right! (Most have been hits. I think I screwed up making green curry though lol), and for the Super Bowl made vegan BBQ cauliflower wings, homemade ranch dressing, and potato wedges, all from her website. Even if you aren’t vegan, you will still enjoy her recipes just the same! Check it out HERE.

Myleik Teele’s Podcasts:
A few months ago, I wrote a blog post about someone whom I admired and became a fan of, simply because she was a BOSS. Her name is Myleik Teele, a self-made CEO who runs a successful company called curlBOX. (and you can learn more about her and her company by reading my previous post HERE). Well, she has these AMAZING podcasts where she shares everything from advice on business, relationships, good book recommendation, and more. Basically, she just gives you the game! I love them! You can access her podcasts and listen HERE
Those are just some of the things that have remained consistent with me as we’ve gotten into the new year. As always, thank you guys so much for your continued support in everything Fab and Ravenous, and I hope that you have a wonderful week!
