Greetings Fabbies! If you follow me on any of my social media, then you know by now that I am a huge fan of hair accessories: hats, scarves, beanies, turbans, headbands, jeweled headbands, and more recently (within the last year), cat-ear headbands. If there’s something that I can accessorize my hair with, then I want it! Hair accessories are not only added decoration to your already fabulous self, but they also serve the purpose of helping with “bad” hair days, or help to spruce up an otherwise simple hairdo.
My fascination with cat-ear headbands began early last year. I came across a pair when I was in Forever21 when I was living in LA. I immediately knew I had to have them, and I have been hooked every since. There is something so whimsical and care-free about wearing a cat ear headband. I am sure to many, they appear to be a bit “costume-y”, and I can see why people would say that, because, well, they sell cat-ear headbands to go with cat costumes during Halloween. But these days, cat-ear headbands come in MANY materials, fabrics, bejeweled, blinged out, embellished, and beyond, easily making it transition to an acceptable, wearable everyday accessory!

One of the biggest reasons that I love hair accessories, including cat-ear headbands, is because they are HUGELY low maintenance. As a busy mom/wife/CEO of domestic affairs/businesswoman/etc, I don’t have ample time to fuss with my hair most days. This is why I love wearing hats and scarves! Hair could be a hot mess underneath and no one would ever know! Even with my green hair now, the extra hair is simple to style, and it does not take long to do a braid, ponytail, or bun. While I love to be fabulous, I am also a HUGE fan of convenience. This is why braids suit me just fan as well. Once they are installed, I don’t have to brush or comb my hair daily. Yasssssss! My go-to hairstyle is a center-part slicked back into a low bun. I get out the shower, throw some deep-condition on my hair, slick it back and I’m done. This is where the cat-ear headband comes in: With my go-to hairstyle, the cat-ear headband INSTANTLY gives that otherwise boring hairstyle life!
I know that wearing cat ear headbands is definitely a bold move, so if you feel hesitant to wear them outside of the house, start by wearing a pair around the house! Do your chores, go outside to check your mailbox, answer the door when the mail person rings, all wearing your cat-ear headband. This way you feel more comfortable wearing this brand new hair accessory is the absolute upgrade from the headbands of our youth.

I am such the girl who thinks that everything happens for a reason, and that when something happens “that’s definitely a signĀ of something”. So of course I went and researched to see if the “cat” had any sort of deep or spiritual meaning. And yes! Yes it does:
Cat Symbolism:
According toĀ www.spiritanimal.info, The cat carries many meanings revolving around the balance between seemingly opposites, such as inner and outer, action and rest, light and dark. The cat generally represents:
- Patience, waiting for the right moment to act
- Independence, yet enjoying social connections
- Spirit of adventure, courage
- Deep, relaxed connection with self
- Healing from the inside out
- Curiosity, exploration of the unknown or the unconscious
After reading that, I nearly spit my wine out! (But of course I didn’t actually spit it out, because one just does NOT spit out perfectly good wine.) I was thinking, “OMG! All of those bullet points describe “ME!” Well, except for the patience part. I can be highly impatient sometimes lol. So maybe, I was drawn to cat-ear headbands in a deep spiritual way and didn’t know it?!? (Okay or maybe I just find them cute and think they’re great additions to my hair accessory collection. :p) Either way, I am officially obsessed, and so much so that I have added lots of different cat-ear headbands to myĀ STORE! Of COURSE I had to share my obsession with you guys! I wear these cat-ear headbands often, and even have become obsessed with the cat emoji on my phone. (I know I know, the obsession is real! lol!)
And people who know me in “real life”, are hip to my obsession as well:

Seriously, if you are a gal like me who loves everything dealing with accessories, then incorporating cat-ear headbands into your wardrobe is just the natural progression of life! So go ahead, cop you a pair today. Purring is not required. š
