What Color Should I Dye My Hair For My Wedding?!

Hey Fabbies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July weekend! And for all of my fabbies overseas and not in the U.S., I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend too! So, as our wedding quickly approaches, I’m narrowing down different hairstyles for the big walk down the aisle. I have a few things in mind (updo, cleaned up side poof,  low side bun, etc…), but one thing I know for sure is that my roots are showing, so it’s certainly time for a hair color change! Now, what color would that be?! Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out…
If you’ve followed me on social media, or even followed this blog over the last year, you’ve noticed that I change my hair color pretty often. Dating back just the last few years, I’ve been through some colors honey! I just like to switch things up a bit from time to time. Life is too short for boring hair! However, for such a special occasion, I’m somewhat undecided on what I want to do concerning my hair for our wedding. I’m going to take you guys down memory lane on just how much I’ve changed my hair color, (and hairstyles) over the last three years:
Summer of 2012 (when I got pregnant with Vito), I went from jet black to auburn, and stayed that color for the whole year.

Ponytail was on fleek! At the park with Zé and 5 months pregnant

lol this was at Zé’s first birthday party in Texas. Vito was in my belly
Me and newborn Vito!

The summer after Vito was born in 2013, I then started to make the transition to blonde. My goal was to get it almost platinum blonde. Like really blonde. I stayed blonde for the whole year, (even though I highlighted my hair pink for a few months after my birthday, I then returned to blonde for the duration of the year. )

First process to blonde

Lol me and my then pregnant sister, Tamika! She was like 7 months pregnant here.  We were at a wedding in July 2013. If you look at the bottom left you’ll see Vito’s feet lol! I had to bring him with me because I was still nursing, and he never took a bottle.

After being blonde for a year, I went back to black:

I also highlighted the back of me hair with turquoise for a moment as well

Leaving Vegas from my Bachelorette Weekend

After being black for the summer, I decided I wanted to get my hair cut, and then dyed red. I had my hair cut into bob back in 2006, so I just had the itch to cut it again!

I was red for about ohhhhh, a month and a half lol. It just had begun to fade quickly, so I was over the  color just as fast as it was fading. But I absolutely loved the color!

So then I thought, I want to go grey! I figure hey, why not go grey now, because when I’m in older and am really starting to grey, the world will never know it! (thank goodness for hair dye. My grandmother is 80 years old, and I have never seen a grey hair on her head. Ever! Her hair has always been jet black. And oh yes, I’m following suit. My hair will be a vibrant color of something else besides grey at 80 years old too!) But I digress.  I had my hair stylist dye my hair grey. And I fell in love!

I stayed grey for the last few months of 2014, and well into 2015. It then faded to a blonde (with the help of Shimmer Lights shampoo and conditioner), and rocked that for a while before going cotton candy pink, then an even brighter pink, which is what I’m rocking now:

So after going through all of those hair colors over the last few years, what’s a girl to do for her wedding day?! I’m thinking that I want a “classic” hair color, and am going to shy away from the fun and funky colors that I’ve done. I’m just not 100% sold on what hair color, and hairstyle for that matter. What do you guys think?

To the right of my blog I’ve also added a poll. So please look at answer what color you think I should rock!

Enjoy your weekend Fabbies!
xoxo

  1. I like the auburn color, but since you have never really been traditional when it comes to your hair, why do that for the wedding? I'm on my phone so I can't see the poll, but I say go with whatever color would make your flowers/decorations POP and be as vibrant as you are all the time!

Can't wait to see the pics, congratulations on picking out the big stuff

  2. Very true! And you're right! I was just thinking I didn't want my hair clashing with decorations and my bouquet. So I'll have to keep all that in mind! Thank you cuz! xoxo
