New Hair Color Alert! (And a Few Pics from My Recent Trip!)

Hello All! I recently returned from an 8 Day trip to the South to see my family and friends. So with Ze and Vito in tow, we stopped in Dallas, Texas for a few days, then flew over to my hometown of Jackson, Mississippi to celebrate my Grandmother’s 80th birthday! It was such a wonderful trip all the way around, but it was in Dallas where I got my hair dyed…HOT PINK! Talk about subtlety hehe. ย Lythal, my hairstylist who had been coloring my hair for the two years that I lived there, did my hair the night that I came into town. I’m so grateful that she is always so accommodating to me! You can find her on Instagram as imlythal. She’s seriously amazing.

I’ve only had my color in for about a week and half now, but of course I’ve taken lots of pictures already, so I’ll share them below!

Who needs makeup when your hair is this color? lol

Such a fun hair color! I’m guessing it will be time for a color touch-up in about 4-6 weeks or so. I plan on keeping it awhile. (But ya’ll know how I can get, so we’ll see.)

Other highlights of my trip were reuniting with my good friend Ordene, and Ze getting to see her best friend Mia. They did not miss a beat!
Kids and their iPads these days I tell ay

And although Ze loves Mia, so does Vito:

It was sad watching the kids say goodbye, but I’m sure we will see them again soon! And of course having Jackson to look forward to helped a lot. It was there that they would have a chance reunite with their little cousin, Cisco!

And the star of the entire trip of course, was my “Grandma Bert”, who turned 80 on April 22nd. She was quite delighted that we surprised her with a celebration and gifts, and loved seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!

And here’s a little a fun fact about my Grandma: In all the years that I’ve been alive, I have never seen her without jet black hair. The woman is 80, and continues to dye her hair so not a nary grey hair will be in sight! She still has a head full of thick hair too! So um, y’all can now see where I get my love for dying my hair from now. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m just so thankful that she’s alive and well, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. If we could all be so lucky! Love you Grandma Bert!!
